LEATHER UPHOLSTERY - COMMON SENSE CARE
Our leather products are designed and built to provide outstanding comfort for many years. By following these easy care tips, your leather furniture will acquire character and retain its beauty for just as many years.

  • As with wood furniture, dusting is an important part of your maintenance schedule. Regular dusting or light vacuuming prevents a build up of air borne pollutants on the leather. Keeping the leather surfaces clean will allow the hides to “breathe” and become softer and suppler over time.
  • Do not use furniture polish, oils, varnishes, ammonia water, soaps, or dusting agents.
  • Exposure to sunlight should be limited whenever possible. During peak hours of sunlight be sure to draw curtains and blinds. Other sources of extreme heat like fireplaces or radiators can have a drying effect on leather furniture.
  • Special conditioners designed specifically for different types of leather are available as treatment.  Once a year you should treat your leather to a complete, top to bottom cleaning.
  • Should a liquid spill occur, blot the area immediately with a clean, absorbent cloth or sponge. Most liquids are initially repelled by leather, but may become absorbed into the material if left standing for any length of time. For removing sticky spills, gently wipe the area with clear, lukewarm water and a sponge. If necessary, mild soap suds may be added. For pure aniline leather, use warm water only and allow the material to dry naturally between applications. Nutregena soap and distilled water are often recommended. As with any natural product, responding to the stain as quickly as possible will yield the optimum results.
