SLIPCOVER UPHOLSTERY - COMMON SENSE CARE
Over the years, consumers have embraced the versatility offered by slip covered sofas and chairs. A multitude of fabrics may be used as slip covers, either individually or as multiples for a collaged effect. Heavy-weight denims, especially the traditional indigo blue remain the most popular. Use the tips below to help maintain the appearance and versatility of your slip covered upholstery.
- We recommend dry-cleaning for most slipcover products. The exception is denim fabrics, which may be machine washed and damp dried.
- Light vacuuming is recommended on a periodic basis. Regular vacuuming will prevent an accumulation of dust and pollutants from “setting-in” to your fabric and causing discoloration. Remember to vacuum all sides of pillows and cushions.
- Remember to “fluff and flip” your cushions on a regular basis. This re-arranging of cushions will reduce wear and the settling effect which can result from always sitting in your favorite spot.
- Consider your furniture placement carefully. Avoid direct sunlight whenever possible, as ultra violet rays may cause discoloration or fading in fabric. Remember to draw curtains or blinds during peak hours of daylight.
